As Raiders look for clear-cut No. 1 WR, Rod Streater is standing out

Raiders head coach Dennis Allen says the Raiders don't have a go-to wide receiver right now. But that could change if Rod Streater @rodstreater80 keeps this up. Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune wrote Monday that Streater "has been the most consistent player and could emerge as the go-to receiver for (Matt) Flynn and Co. because they're relatively certain he'll come down with the ball."
Meanwhile, McDonald wrote that Denarius Moore @DenariusMoore has only "flashed" the ability that made him the team's No. 1 wideout for most of last season. While Allen said Streater has improved his route-running, is a hard worker and is playing more physically, he said Moore needs to work on fighting for those tough catches.
"He's going to have to go up and make the contested plays, and he's going to have to make sure he doesn't have those concentration drops that he had at times last year," Allen said of Moore. "Again, it's as much about the mental part of it as the physical part of it. Just, to be the go-to guy you've got to see yourself as a go-to guy."

Fantasy Analysis:

Both Moore and Streater had problems with drops last season, but it sounds like Streater has been much more impressive during camp. And that kind of makes sense, because Moore's best skill is his ability to stretch the field. But Flynn doesn't have a big arm; he is much more comfortable going to a possession receiver such as Streater.
Moore was a top-25 fantasy wide receiver during a stretch in the middle of last season when he scored five times in seven games. But that was with Carson Palmer. Flynn can not go deep like Palmer can, and I think Moore will be a bust this year because of that. Even though he isn't being drafted until the middle rounds as a WR3 or WR4, I have avoided him in all of my mocks.
On the other hand, it will be interesting to see if Streater can continue this good start through August. He's not as talented as Moore, but trust is critically important between a quarterback and a wide receiver, and it sounds like Streater has Flynn's trust right now.
