Dolphins WR Mike Wallace, QB Ryan Tannehill haven't developed good chemistry yet

Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun Sentinel wondered on Tuesday what is going on with Mike Wallace @Wallace17_daKid in the first three days of Dolphins training camp. Kelly writes that Wallace has dropped passes, hasn't always practiced at full speed and has yet to connect with quarterback Ryan Tannehill @ryantannehill1 on a deep ball. Kelly reminisces about Brandon Marshall's first training-camp practice as a Dolphin, one in which he dominated and was "pushing around all of Miami's defensive backs." But Wallace hasn't done that yet.
Thankfully, Kelly stresses patience at the end of his post, noting that it takes time for what Wallace had with Ben Roethlisberger to develop, and that there's no reason it can't happen with Tannehill.

Fantasy Analysis:

Unfortunately, I know some people out there will read what Kelly wrote and use it to judge Wallace's fantasy value. Please, I implore you to not be one of those people. It's still July. There is still about six weeks left before the regular season. And Wallace is learning a new offense. I am not a huge fan of Wallace in fantasy drafts this year -- he is a low-end WR2 and I think he will be hit-or-miss often this season -- but it is way, way, way too premature to start stressing about the lack of chemistry between him and Tannehill. Just take this for what it is: a slow first few days of training camp. And then move on to more important matters.
Moral: It's early. Mike Wallace is not Brandon Marshall. And don't get wrapped up in any report about player performance during the first week of camp.
