Jets will monitor WR Stephen Hill's reps early in training camp

The Jets need wide receiver Stephen Hill @_StephenHill_ to step up in his second season. What they don't need is him getting hurt during training camp after a rookie year that was shortened by injuries. According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets will closely monitor how many reps Hill gets early in camp to avoid a setback with his surgically repaired right knee. Hill missed the final three games of the season because of a sprained LCL in that knee. He missed two games earlier in the year due to a strained hamstring.

Fantasy Analysis:

And Hill put up goose eggs in five games that he actually did play in. So, tough year all around for the Georgia Tech product. If Hill can stay healthy, he should be a starter in New York. His physical attributes -- 6-foot-4 with a 4.36 40-yard dash -- are what made him a second-round pick in the 2012 draft. But between multiple injuries, bad route-running, and dropped passes, Hill has had a lot of growing pains in his first 14 months as a pro. And the Jets' quarterback situation makes it that much more difficult for him to produce. Hill should be left for those in only keeper or dynasty leagues.
Mehta writes on Twitter the Jets are taking a similar approach with tight end Kellen Winslow, who has some lofty goals for 2013, in case you haven't heard.
