Delays, delays and more delays in the legal matters surrounding Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch 's DUI from July of 2012. First, a motion to suppress evidence was continued to July 5 rather than be heard on Wednesday. Now instead of going to trial on June 21 as originally expected, no court date is set. The longer this is delayed, the greater chance Lynch could miss some portion of training camp.
Missing a few offseason workouts and drills could be the least of Lynch's problems. It's conceivable that if depending on the legal outcome, the 26-year-old runner could be suspended by the NFL. As a pure football decision it seemed slightly odd that Seattle spent a second-round selection on Texas A&M running back Christine Michael with Lynch and rising second-year back Robert Turbin on the roster. Perhaps that choice was simply about taking the best player available - or perhaps a sign that the Seahawks fear a suspension for Lynch is coming.
