NFL exec predicts Jets QB David Garrard Week 1 starter

With Jets owner Woody Johnson telling the NFL Network that Mark Sanchez @Mark_Sanchez will compete for the starting job, NFL.com's Kimberly Jones reports one NFL executive predicts David Garrard @davidgarrard9 will be New York's Week 1 starter. Rookie Geno Smith @GenoSmith_12 is also in the QB battle.

Fantasy Analysis:

Imagine the New York tabloids should this scenario play out. Hard imagining it happening, however, as long as Sanchez remains on the roster. Garrard is 35, hasn't played in a regular season game since 2010 and has dealt with significant knee and back injuries. Always underrated even when a viable starter in Jacksonville, but let's see what Garrard can do before predicting he takes over as starter. Oh, even if he does, fantasy owners should not contemplate such a move. We'll give Smith the second best odds to start after Sanchez, though said odds are not very high. None of this is because Sanchez is all that awesome, but rather because he gets paid like he is.

I know its only May...and "any" story "is" a story, but can Kimberly Jones of NFL.com please site a source if she's going to be forwarding people's predictions....I predict Kimberly will be annoyed at this prediction. I heard Tony Romo is changing his brand of hair conditioner and thinking about growing a mullet. Predictable !!!
