More negative reports regarding Jets rookie QB Geno Smith

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole has written an article compiling multiple sources' opinions on former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith @GenoSmith_12. The 39th overall pick was described as "not much of a leader" by one league executive. Two separate sources said that during team visits, Smith seemed more preoccupied with his cell phone than with interacting with team officials. This all piles on to the recent revelation that Smith fired his agent. The rookie said in a statement that the firing had nothing to do with his fall in the draft while rumors speculated it was because his agent left Smith in New York City to visit with other clients for Day 2 of the draft.

Fantasy Analysis:

Where there's smoke, there's fire. So maybe Smith has an ego, loves apps and might be an introvert. It doesn't mean he can't play quarterback. These are not make or break issues. We're still months away, possibly years away from a time when Smith sees the field in a meaningful game. For now, all he can do is keep his head down and blend in as best he can in the New York sports media. The truth is, the less we hear about him, the better. Althought if all of this is a sign of things to come, Smith is going to sell a lot of papers in New York and New Jersey.
