Draft gurus: 49ers win the draft, Cowboys struggled

Not that there will be tangible proof any time soon about which teams scored big and which missed the mark in the NFL Draft, but there is an immediate consensus of so-called winners and losers. Football Outsiders complied draft grades handed out by notable NFL writers and thinkers for all 32 teams. The least surprising result comes right at the top as San Francisco received a 3.71 GPA. For those that haven't been in school for a while, that means the 49ers largely received "A" grades after using their bevy of picks to address needs at safety with first round pick Eric Reid, defensive line with Tank Carradine and target a promising albiet injured running back in Marcus LattimoreThe 49ers were in position to act like a bully and they did just that, manuevring around enough to even land a third-round pick in 2014. Rounding out the top-5, Bengals, Ravens, Rams, Cardinals. Yes, the experts apparently loved the NFC West and AFC North.

Fantasy Analysis:

However those same experts did not like the Cowboys (1.63), who many believe reached for center Travis Frederick in the first round, though there were quibbles with several of their picks. The rest of the bottom-5 includes Browns, Patriots, Bills and Redskins. Based on the bulk of the pre-draft information, none of these five selections appear dramatically unfair, though the Redskins did not have a first-round selectioin because of the Robert Griffin III trade. The pre-draft information, some of it their own, is also what skews perception, even among those handing out the grades. We won't actually know many of the "who won or who lost" answers for some time. For now, we rely on the "experts" to look into theor crystal ball.
