Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon suspended for 4 games

Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon @JustBlack81 has violated the NFL's policy on substance abuse for the second time. It is not known at this time exactly what substance triggered the second violation, but the result is a four-game suspension for the 23-year-old wide receiver.
"It is very disappointing," Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said in a conference call with reporters Tuesday. " ... To be honest, things like this are frustrating because it's an avoidable situation."
The team then released a statement from Blackmon in which he was very apologetic.
"I've made a mistake and I have no excuse," Blackmon said. "I am truly sorry and disappointed in myself for putting the Jaguars in this situation. ... I look forward to puttin this behind me and maturing and growing as a person."
Blackmon has been arrested for DUI twice in the last few years -- first in 2010 and then in 2012, a little more than a month after being drafted in the first round by Jacksonville. He has been in the league's substance-abuse program since, but he slipped up again. With one more violation, Blackmon will be suspended for an entire season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Blackmon will not be able to play until Week 5. Cecil Shorts remains the Jags' No. 1 WR, but who is now No. 2? Mohamed Massaquoi @MoMass13? Yikes. Blackmon caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season, which is pretty solid considering the sad state of affairs at quarterback on that team. It was actually the best season by a rookie wide receiver in team history. Blackmon can be a consistent WR3 in fantasy this year, but the Jags need to find stability under center, and Blackmon needs to quit making really, really, really bad decisions.
