QB Matt Flynn officially dealt to Raiders; Cardinals working to acquire Raiders QB Carson Palmer

Three days after the Raiders were reportedly close to trading for quarterback Matt Flynn, a deal has been struck. According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, Oakland will be sending two draft picks -- a fifth-round selection in 2014 and a conditional late-round pick in 2015 -- to Seattle in return for Flynn. With Flynn in tow, Glazer reports that Oakland is currently working on a trade that would send Carson Palmer to the Cardinals for a late-round selection.

Fantasy Analysis:

Besides finding some competition for Terrelle Pryor @TerrellePryor, the good news for the Raiders is that they didn't have to surrender a 2013 pick to land Flynn. They have only seven as it is, and only one in the first two rounds.
Flynn has a couple of memorable performances on his resume. He threw three touchdowns in a close loss at New England in 2010. He threw a Packers record six TDs in the 2011 regular-season finale. But those games are Flynn's only two starts in five NFL seasons. He's still very much of an unknown product, and it would a mistake if the Raiders handed over the the reins without making Flynn earn it in camp. Even if he gets the starting job, Flynn will be a low-level QB2 at the open.
Unlike Flynn, Palmer would step right in to be the Cardinals' starter if that deal gets ironed out.
