TE Fred Davis re-signs with Redskins

Tight end Fred Davis has decided to go with familiarity over a slightly fatter paycheck. Davis signed a one-year deal Friday with the only NFL franchise that has employed him, the Redskins. Davis also had an offer from the Bills that, according to the Washington Examiner's John Keim, was "a little better." Instead, he will remain in Washington. Davis caught 24 passes for 325 yards and zero touchdowns in seven games last season before tearing an Achilles' tendon.

Fantasy Analysis:

The reports on Davis' recovery have been positive, much like those regarding Robert Griffin III. Those two didn't create a whole lot of magic last year, but considering Washington's relatively weak receiving corps, Davis could open this season as RG3's second-best target. That depends on Davis being healthy, but he is expected to participate in training camp in four months. He's a low-end TE1 at best right now, but Davis, still just 27 years old, carries plenty of upside.
