In the first year of a five-year, $32.5 million contract, Jaguars wide receiver Laurent Robinson
suffered four concussions in four months. He was placed on injured reserve November 21, and there was a lot of wondering as to if Robinson would play in the NFL again. But there appears to be some optimism on that point. Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said Friday that it's his "understanding" that Robinson has been medically cleared.
Fantasy Analysis:
I wish Robinson the best of luck, but I would like to know what he is thinking. Seriously, what does a person such as Robinson, who has suffered a handful of concussions in such a short span of time, think about possibly returning to football after all of the shots his brain has taken, especially given the literature about the effects of multiple concussions on human life. His fantasy value is very low and insignificant in this case. I just hope Robinson doesn't try to push himself to sate his competitive nature and end up regretting his comeback after another case of brain trauma.
