No toe surgery for Redskins WR Pierre Garcon

Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon
will go with rest over surgery on the partial plantar plate tear in the second toe on his right foot. The Washington Examiner's John Keim has been told by a league source that Garcon has not been running on that foot during the offseason, and the toe is healing well, so more rest is the prescription. Garcon injured his right foot in Week 1 against the Saints. He then missed six of the next eight games and really wasn't effective again until Thanksgiving versus the Cowboys. He finished the regular season with touchdowns in three of his final six games and 80-plus yards in four of those six.
Fantasy Analysis:
The source told Keim that Garcon "should" be 100 percent by next season. If he and Robert Griffin III are healthy by September, Garcon should be viewed as a fine WR2 in 12-team leagues. Despite all of those missed games, Garcon still led the Redskins in receiving yards and was second in catches and receiving touchdowns.
