Eagles QB Dennis Dixon says he will be involved in open competition

The Eagles signed Dennis Dixon just four days ago, and he hasn't played in an NFL game since September 2010. But he will be given a shot at earning the team's starting quarterback job. That's what he said during a Monday conference call.
"From my understanding, the job is open," Dixon said via the Newark Star-Ledger. "It will be very competitive around here, so it's pretty much open. May the best man win."
Fantasy Analysis:
OK, great. But Dixon has very slim odds of actually winning the job. Vick should come out ahead unless he falters spectacularly. However, a loss in the open competition doesn't mean we should completely ignore Dixon in 2013. I think there is still a decent change that the Eagles trade Nick Foles
, which would make Dixon the immediate backup QB. If that happens, all Dixon would need is a Vick injury to become a starter once again. And Michael Vick
getting hurt isn't exactly tough to imagine.
