Browns QB Brandon Weeden looking forward to competing for starting job

Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden @bweeden3 had a very up-and-down rookie season. It was a season that looked worse against the backdrop of what Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson accomplished during their premiere year. Unlike those three guys, Weeden knows that his title of starting quarterback isn't guaranteed entering next season after the Browns' new owner hired a new head coach and a new general manager. Weeden looks forward to winning them over through competition.
"There's going to be competition," Weeden told the Akron Beacon Journal. "The guys that drafted me are no longer there, so I fully expect there to be competition. I would want competition. I want to go into camp and compete. If I had won 10 or 11 games last year, that may not be the case, but we weren't able to get that done. ... That's part of the business. But it's also the fun part. You get to compete and try to be a winner."

Fantasy Analysis:

Colt McCoy and Thaddeus Lewis are the other quarterbacks on Cleveland's roster, so someone will obviously be brought in for that competition, most likely via a trade or free agency. If Weeden wins the job, he would be a decent QB2 next year. He's got some good athletes around him, and the Browns' offense is improving. We know Weeden definitely has the arm for the NFL. He needs to work on his accuracy.
