The Raiders gave quarterback Terrelle Pryor
the start in the 2012 season finale versus the Chargers, and he responded with a three-touchdown effort. Pryor will have the opportunity to get more starts in 2013. Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said as much during a radio interview Tuesday. Pryor is the only quarterback on Oakland's roster behind Carson Palmer. Matt Leinart is a free agent, and Palmer is recovering after suffering multiple cracked ribs and a bruised lung in Week 16.
Fantasy Analysis:
It is still very much Palmer's job to lose, because Pryor just isn't ready to be a passing quarterback at this level. But the athleticism is there in spades, and with quarterbacks such as Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick and others having immediate success, Pryor would seem to fit right into where the NFL is headed offensively. And hey, not many thought Cam Newton was ready to be an NFL passer as he was coming into the 2011 season. With Palmer in tow, the Raiders can afford to wait on Pryor, but he is certainly someone to watch.
