NFL Network analyst and former NFL team executive Mike Lombardi has been hired by the Cleveland Browns to assume the role of vice president of player personnel. The team has not yet named a new general manager. This isn't Lombardi's first role as an executive having previous experience with the 49ers, Browns, Rams, Eagles, and Raiders, respectively.
Fantasy Analysis:
It may seem quite a jump for a guy who had spent the last few years writing, announcing, and analyzing the game, but Lombardi used to work with 49ers' legend Bill Walsh many years ago so he's been around the NFL for a long time. Cleveland has some important decisions on the horizon, particularly on offense. The future of Brandon Weeden
certainly is not set in stone and the rookie still has a lot to prove. Surrounding Trent Richardson with quality talent is also a must.
