The Broncos stayed in house to choose Mike McCoy's successor as offensive coordinator. It's Adam Gase, who has spent the past two seaons as Denver's quarterbacks coach and has been with the organization since 2009. Gase, at the age of 34, is two years younger than quarterback Peyton Manning and has been an NFL coach in some capacity since 2005.
Fantasy Analysis:
Gase said Thursday that he is not nervous about calling plays for the first time. Of course, having Manning on the field calms many offensive coaches. He calls a lot of the plays at the line of scrimmage anyway. Gase will take what he has learned under McCoy, who was named Chargers head coach on Tuesday, and head into the 2013 with a word of advice from Broncos fans: Don't screw it up. The Broncos ranked second in points per game and fourth in yards per game this season. As OC, Gase may lean toward more pass plays.
