Texans head coach still believes in QB Matt Schaub

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak got out in front of any potential hand-wringing or offseason speculation by stating that quarterback Matt Schaub @MSchaub8 is their guy now and in the future. "I believe in Matt," Kubiak said. "He's the quarterback of our football team. I've got no doubt about him. Defensive leader J.J. Watt @JJWatt also praised Schaub after the divisional round loss to the New England Patriots. The nine-year vet completed 34 of 51 passes (66.7-percent) for 343 yards and added two TDs and one INT during Sunday's 41-28 loss.

Fantasy Analysis:

Schaub isn't asked to win games for Houston. Everyone knows their backbone is a strong running game and stout run defense. In fact, Houston finished 11th in the NFL in passing yards per game (239.4). It's tough to win any game where your defense allows 41 points regardless. As for Schaub, it would help him a lot if they had a legitimate No. 2 WR. Owen Daniels @owendaniels does a good job occupying the middle of the field but Kevin Walter has proven he is a mediocre option at best. Rookie DeVier Posey @DPo8 will need to step up big next season, but that may be tough since he tore his Achilles' tendon last night.
