Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith will be interviewed by the San Diego Chargers Friday. Last week, ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the story that San Diego would be pursuing Smith. They will also interview Cincinnati DC Mike Zimmer, Colts OC Bruce Arians, and 49ers OC Greg Roman. Smith is also scheduled to meet with Philadelphia as a replacement for Andy Reid.
Fantasy Analysis:
Smith put in some good and some not-so-good years with Chicago and a change was obviously needed. The same could be said about San Diego's head coaching vacancy and the recently departed Norv Turner. The Chargers have battled with mediocrity over the last three seasons, having records of 9-7, 8-8 and 7-9, respectively. The Bears only reached the postseason once since losing Super Bowl XLI back in the 2006-07 season and that appearance came back in 2010.
