Report: Chiefs hire former Jets coach Bob Sutton to defensive coordinator position

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting that Bob Sutton, former New York Jets assistant head coach and linebackers coach will be named Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator. Sutton was interviewed last night and had been with the Jets since 2000. He was the DC in 2006 to 2008. He has coaching experience with both the 4-3 and 3-4 styles of defense. The Chiefs currently operate a 3-4. Former Dallas Cowboys DC Rob Ryan is believed to be a candidate for the now vacant Jets position, joining his bother Rex.

Fantasy Analysis:

Andy Reid has already been brought in as head coach and now it appears the Chiefs have secured a defensive coordinator. These appear to be positive moves and next up, they will need an OC. Kansas City finished 2-14 and has the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. For now there is no consensus choice for that selection. It's been years since there was this much uncertainty around the potential top pick. Maybe the 2007 draft, the year former LSU QB JaMarcus Russell emerged as the Raiders' favorite choice. We all see know how that turned out.
