Vikings head coach expects WR Percy Harvin to stick with franchise

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier speculated that wide receiver Percy Harvin @Percy_Harvin would return to the team in 2013 despite having issues with the organization. "I don't see any reason why Percy wouldn't be back with us," Frazier said. "He should be." About two weeks ago, reports suggested that Harvin and Frazier had a "heated exchange" which further indicated a strained relationship between the coach and player. The 24-year-old receiver is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is scheduled to earn $1.55 million.

Fantasy Analysis:

The harsh reality in the NFL is that even a player of Harvin's caliber would be lucky to garner much more than a second-round pick. The injury concerns are valid too since he is only 5'11" and 184 lbs. The former Florida Gators star was on pace to have a career-best season with 62 receptions, 677 yards and three scores through nine games. PPR owners should still consider Harvin a legit WR1 next season regardless of where he ends up. There is no denying his ability to work the short passing game and he can eat up yards with his terrific quickness and athleticism. Considering how ineffective Minnesota was on offense in the second half of 2012 without Harvin and the Vikings' dire lack of decent receivers should be reasons enough to pony up the cash for a contract extension.
