Raiders QB Carson Palmer out with cracked ribs, bruised lung

The Raiders will be without Carson Palmer for their regular-season finale after a Monday MRI revealed that the quarterback has multiple cracked ribs and a bruised lung. Palmer sustained the injury when he was crushed from behind by Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy during the first quarter of Sunday's loss. He was replaced by Matt Leinart @MattLeinartQB, who will start this week's game against the Chargers.

Fantasy Analysis:

Leinart turned in a predictably timid performance as he averaged just 3.6 yards over his 32 pass attempts. He completed just 16 of those passes and had an interception. If you're wondering about Terrelle Pryor, don't. Head coach Dennis Allen said after the game "We don't feel like [Pryor is] ready to be the backup quarterback yet." So Pryor will remain a gimmick player, and all Raiders receivers are off limits for Sunday's game in San Diego. The only player you can start here is Darren McFadden, and he's only a low-end RB2.
Palmer's season ends with 4,018 yards, 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. It's his first 4,000-yard season since 2007. There's potential with this offense, but Palmer, who will turn 33 in a couple of days, will be just mid-range QB2 to enter next season.
