Last week, the Redskins' team doctor had the final say on the playing status of quarterback Robert Griffin III
, and he gave the explosive rookie the thumbs down. This week, it's thumbs up. Griffin has been cleared by the team doctor -- the last hurdle in his comeback after suffering a sprained LCL in his right knee on Dec. 9 -- and will start Sunday versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The decision was pretty much assumed considering Griffin practiced in full all week and handled all of the first-team snaps after handling no such snaps last week.
Fantasy Analysis:
And you're starting him, right? Right. The matchup is plenty favorable, and I expect Griffin to be his normal self, running his usual offense and doing what he does at full capacity on Sunday. He is an easy QB1. If you're playing for a league title in Week 16, RG3 has likely gotten you this far; a one-week absence isn't a good enough reason to suddenly turn your back and get cute.
