Lions WR Calvin Johnson breaks single-season receiving yards record

Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson @Bigplaycj set or reached a bunch of records during Saturday night's loss to the Falcons, but the one that grabs the headlines is Johnson's destruction of the single-season receiving yards mark. Johnson gained a season-high 225 yards in the game to bring him to 1,892 yards for the year, surpassing the previous single-season high of 1,848 yards set by Jerry Rice in 1995.
To name a few other records now in his ownership, Johnson also became the first receiver to record eight consecutive 100-yard games and four games with at least 10 receptions. Saturday's effort marked the 11th 100-yard game of Johnson's season, which tied an NFL record.

Fantasy Analysis:

And Johnson still has one game to go. I expect the Lions to do whatever possible to get Johnson to 2,000 yards next week against the Bears. So much for that Madden Curse, eh? The Falcons seemed to let him run free way too often during the game, but really, what else needs to be said other than, it's Megatron.
