Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III
went through a third consecutive day of limited practice on Friday. Once again, reporters on scene and head coach Mike Shanahan said he looked better than the day before while running and throwing. One piece of news that is not-so positive comes from NFL insider Jay Glazer, who writes that he has been told by Redskins players that Griffin hasn't taken any snaps with the first-string offense all week.
"Redskins players tell me [Griffin] has only done individual drills this week, no first team reps at all," Glazer tweeted. "He's thrown to receivers but (Kirk) Cousins taken all 1st-team reps. However, he is truly a game-time decision."
Fantasy Analysis:
Hmmm. I was feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good about putting RG3 in my lineup this weekend, but that report by Glazer has me holding back. Shanahan said he will know by Saturday if Griffin will play, but it won't be officially known until Sunday morning's inactives report surfaces. I've suspected that's how Shanahan will handle this situation, but will he start Griffin despite zero work with the first-team offense?
I still believe he will play. How much will he be limited remains to be seen, but Griffin needs to be in your lineup if he is active. However, you must have a Plan B waiting in the wings in case he is inactive, which seems like a much stronger possibility now than it did a few hours ago.
