Yahoo Sports writer Jason Cole is reporting that Cleveland Browns team president Joe Banner is "lukewarm on the prospects" of quarterback Brandon Weeden
in terms of "developing into a star." Firm words from Weeden's boss illuminate the possibility that Cleveland could potentially draft another quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft or pursue a free agent in the coming offseason. Weeden is now 29 years old. He is completing just 57.0-percent of his passes for 2,820 yards, 13 TDs and 15 INTs. Cleveland is 4-8 and all but mathetically eliminated from playoff contention.
Fantasy Analysis:
Well, it can't really be argued that the Browns had no other option. Seattle is thriving with rookie QB Russell Wilson
who was selected 53 picks after Weeden. The Yahoo article suggested they should be proactive in pursuing Michael Vick
should he hit free agency. Cleveland's offensive line really provides them a solid backbone to build upon. RB Trent Richardson and WR Josh Gordon are both having good years as well. Weeden has been a serious drag on this offense though and may not have much of a future in the NFL.
