Report: Vikings WR Percy Harvin had ligament tear

ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reported that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin @Percy_Harvin had a Grade 3 ankle sprain, which signifies a complete ligament tear. Such an injury typically has a four to six week recovery time and Harvin is entering his fifth week since the injury. The team hoped he would be able to play following their Week 11 against Chicago but Harvin was not ready. "It's still a little stiff in certain areas," Harvin said. "A little swelling -- it's just not major swelling. So, it's to the point now where I feel like I can do a little something."

Fantasy Analysis:

The Vikings are still in the mix, although they are a long shot, for the NFC playoffs. Losing Harvin has really hampered Minnesota's passing attack and Christian Ponder @cponder7. Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson can only do so much alone. If Harvin does practice at all during the week and is able to play, he's a solid flex option despite the high risk of re-injury, particularly in PPR leagues. Harvin was a Top 3 fantasy WR before his injury and that kind of production is too valuable to ignore.
