Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks said a couple of weeks ago that he feels "pretty close" to 100 percent coming out of the team's Week 11 bye. He scored against the Packers last week in what was his most productive fantasy outing since Week 2. But according to offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, Nicks is not all well and good, and he would have had an even bigger game against the Packers if he was.
"Still not the same. Not himself, no," Gilbride said of Nicks. "He had a couple of chances for plays. He would have made those plays easily (if healthy). Easily.
"You love the fact that he's trying. He's fighting his rear end (off). He refused to accept being hurt, and he knows we're better when he's out there, and he's trying to do everything he can. I admire that and everything else, but he's not the same guy yet as he was, there's no question about that."
Fantasy Analysis:
Gilbride is right. But Nicks is still an immense talent who is heavily targeted -- he has 27 targets in his past two games. He is not even on the injury report this week, and he's got a great matchup coming Monday night against the Redskins. At the very worst, he remains a solid WR2.
