Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur has already announced that quarterback Brandon Weeden
is expected to play in Week 13 after sustaining a concussion last week. The rookie signal-caller has already passed his concussion tests and will proceed with a typical week of practice. Shurmur does not plan on giving backup QB Colt McCoy
any additional reps as a precaution, so it appears that Weeden remains locked in as the starter after Cleveland's Week 12 upset over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Analysis:
Weeden has a favorable matchup upcoming against the Oakland Raiders. That said, he should not even be on a roster in most fantasy formats. Through 11 games, Weeden has passed for 2,456 yards (18th in the NFL), 12 TDs (24th) and 13 INTs (tied for third-most). Not an awful season for a rookie, and technically his numbers are better than Ryan Tannehill
. All that matters though is wins and losses and Cleveland is looking like a lock for a Top 5 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Weeden's value, even in keeper and dynasty leagues, should be very low.
