Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid told reporters after Monday night's game against the Carolina Panthers that wide receiver DeSean Jackson
injured his rib cartilage. Jackson was forced to leave the game early in the first quarter and was never able to return. This usually suggests a fairly serious injury. Jason Avant would start alongside Jeremy Maclin
if D-Jax is unable to play. Philly travels to Dallas in Week 13 for Sunday Night Football.
UPDATE (12:13 pm): The Eagles have announced that Jackson is out for the season.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Eagles' season continues to get worse with injuries to Michael Vick
, LeSean McCoy
, and now Jackson in recent weeks. The former Calfornia Golden Bear was not having a season much better than 2011. He ranks in the high-30s at wide receiver and that means he barely qualified as a flex in most leagues. Maclin should see a decent bump since Jackson is out for the year, although that doesn't mean much unless Vick is the starter.
