Eagles quarterback Michael Vick
and running back LeSean McCoy
have been unofficially ruled out for Monday's game since about Wednesday. The team gave the official word today. Nick Foles
will get his second consecutive start in place of Vick while Bryce Brown will start at running back versus the Panthers.
As to when each player will return to action, Vick is further along in his concussion recovery than McCoy. Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia reports that Vick is no longer feeling any concussion symptoms and will move up to phase 4 of his recovery tomorrow. Conversely, McCoy is still at phase 1.
"[McCoy] still has headache and dizziness," Frank tweeted on Saturday. "Very fatigued. Very sensitive to noise."
Wide receiver Jason Avant will also miss his second game in a row due to a strained hamstring.
Fantasy Analysis:
Head coach Andy Reid said Dion Lewis will get some carries, but Brown looks to be a guy you can count on for 15-20 touches. Carolina's run defense has been a little bit better of late, but Brown's pure opportunity makes him a nice RB2.
Foles was a disaster in his starting debut against the Redskins last week. He should be improved -- he said he's had a better week of practice compared to Week 11 -- but I wouldn't consider him more than a desperation play in two-quarterback leagues.
