Every advantage helps. 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday he might be getting only an extra "one percent" advantage by not divulging whom his starting quarterback is going to be for Sunday's game versus the Saints, but he'll take it. Harbaugh has declined all week, Friday included, to officially name a starter, calling it a "competitive advantage."
However, nobody told safety Donte Whitner about such an advantage. In a radio interview Friday, he said Colin Kaepernick
will indeed start in New Orleans.
Fantasy Analysis:
Oops. Oh, well. It's not like Whitner's statement really surprised many people.
Are we done here? I was kind of outraged when I first heard the Wednesday report from Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter that Kaepernick is going to be the 49ers' main man from here on out. Now I just want to get to Sunday. Alex Smith isn't even cleared to play yet, so he probably would have been out for this game anyway. Kaepernick was a revelation versus the Bears in Week 11. Now he gets a crack at the league's last-ranked defense. He's an easy top-15 QB in fantasy this week. FFToolbox has ranked him appropriately at No. 11.
