Eagles running back Bryce Brown will have come a long way when Monday night arrives and he is the team's probable starter against the Panthers. From being the No. 1 running back in the country coming out of high school to collegiate vagabond to seventh-round draft pick, Brown's career has seen its fair share of peaks and valleys. But with LeSean McCoy
still trying to clear his head following a Week 11 concussion, Brown is expected to start in front of a national audience in a few days, and offensive coordinator Marty Morhinweg said Friday "My expectations are very high with Bryce Brown."
Fantasy Analysis:
In two weeks, the Eagles have gone from a backfield with Michael Vick
and McCoy to Nick Foles
and Brown. Vick is making progress with his concussion testing, but Foles is still expected to start this game. However, Brown is the much better fantasy play of the two. The rookie has got a thick frame -- six feet, 225 pounds -- but he has a lot of speed, too. He ran a sub-4.50 40-yard dash at his pro day. The Panthers have improved their run defense since its early season gaffes, beut it's still an exploitable matchup for Brown, who should get 15-20 touches. I do worry about how/if the Eagles' offensive line will open up running lanes for him, but I think Brown is a decent RB2 for as long as McCoy is still foggy.
