Who's in and who's out of the Thanksgiving Day games

First off, here's to everyone who reads this enjoying a terrific Thanksgiving. You know the drill: Football, food, more football, more food. And if there's any spare time, you can talk to your family every once in a while.
This will be a modified version of my usual Sunday morning injury report, dedicated to the three games that await us today. This post will be updated throughout the day as the inactives report for each game come in (about 90 minutes prior to each kickoff). I'll be keeping my eyes on players such as Felix Jones @felixjones28, Pierre Garcon @PierreGarcon, Aaron Hernandez @AaronHernandez, and others.

The notable players who have already been ruled out of Thanksgiving Day action include Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski and Titus Young @TitusYoung. For a full rundown of injuries around the NFL this week, click the link below to the league's official injury report.

Texans at Lions

-- According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, the Texans will be without cornerback Johnathan Joseph. A hamstring pull that he suffered in Week 11 will keep him out of this one. That should make things easier for Calvin Johnson.
-- For the first time in 186 games, Lions tackle Jeff Backus will not play. He is out due to a hamstring injury. Rookie Riley Reiff will start and protect Matthew Stafford's blind side.
-- Running back Ben Tate is inactive for the Texans. He didn't practice all week and hasn't played since Week 7 due to a hamstring injury. Justin Forsett will continue to backup Arian Foster. Tate shouldn't be owned in fantasy leagues unless you own Foster.
-- Wide receiver Ryan Broyles will start this game in place of the benched Titus Young. Mike Thomas was expected to get the start according to reports earlier in the week, but it's Broyles who gets the official call. He'll still play heavily out of the slot and isn't a bad WR3 today.

Redskins at Cowboys

-- Pierre Garcon is active for the Redskins. He'll likely be limited again, and I wouldn't start him against the Cowboys' strong pass defense.
-- As expected Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray @DeMarcoMurray is inactive. Felix Jones is active, but look for him to share carries with Lance Dunbar. Both guys are solely desperation flex plays. Phillip Tanner may also be involved. Remember that Jones is dealing with pain in both knees.
-- Cowboys WR Kevin Ogletree is inactive because of a concussion. You weren't going to start him anyway, even against the Redskins' pass defense. Remember that
-- Redskins linebacker London Fletcher is active despite an ankle injury. We saw Jeff Backus' consecutive games streak end earlier today. Fletcher's activation means he will play in his 235th consecutive game.
-- Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith is active, but he won't start and probably won't play much. meaning that Cowboys offensive line gets even worse today. Smith has a high ankle sprain.

Patriots at Jets

-- As expected, Aaron Hernandez is active for this game. He may be limited to only 30-40 snaps, but he's still a strong fantasy play. I guaranteed on Tuesday's FFToolbox podcast that Hernandez will score a touchdown tonight.
-- Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd are active. Lloyd's snaps have been scaled back recently, but maybe he sees more field time with Rob Gronkowski out.
-- Jets WR Jeremy Kerley @JKerley_11 active despite a hamstring injury. The Patriots present a good matchup for most wideouts, but Kerley is not that close to being healthy. He will probably not see a majority of the snaps and should be on all fantasy benches.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Patriots will be without Gronkowski for four-to-six weeks as he rests a fractured forearm. He underwent surgery earlier this week. He wants to return in time for the Sunday night game against Houston in Week 14, but that seems awfully optimistic. With Aaron Hernandez expected to play tonight, the Pats' offense shouldn't suffer too much. They still have plenty of weapons. Roll with Brady and Co. against the Jets.
Young has been deactivated for today's game due to repeated instances of insubordination. Young is talented, but he needs a serious wake-up call. Concerns about his attitude have dogged him since college. It's fair to wonder if he'll be an impactful fantasy player at any point for the rest of this season.
