Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert, RB Rashad Jennings lose starting gig

Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey has made a couple of changes to his starting lineup. The biggest switch is the benching of quarterback Blaine Gabbert @BlaineGabbert for Chad Henne. Gabbert suffered an injury to his throwing elbow during Sunday's game versus the Texans, but Mularkey indicated Monday that this move is based on performance. Henne is coming off of throwing four touchdowns in Houston. Gabbert has thrown nine touchdowns all season and has completed just 58 percent of his passes.
Mularkey also confirmed that Rashad Jennings @RashadJennings is no longer the Jaguars' top Maurice Jones-Drew replacement. It became obvious when Jennings carried the ball just three times while Jalen Parmele got 24 carries. Parmele will get a second start this Sunday against the Titans.

Fantasy Analysis:

This could mark the end of Gabbert's time in Jacksonville. And to think that I thought he would be the best quarterback over the long term from the first round of the 2010 draft. Yes, that's what I thought. But you can't blame Mularkey for making the move to Henne. While the Texans' horrific lack of tackling helped inflate his stats, he looked better in that game than Gabbert has in any game during his pro career. Henne is a low-end QB2 at best, but he should help the Jaguars put up more points consistently and thus up the fantasy stock of Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon.
MJD is targeting a Week 13 return to the field, so maybe Parmele starts just one more game. But it comes at home against the Titans' poor defense. The team is obviously not afraid to give him 25+ touches, so Parmele should be added in many leagues this week. I think he's a solid flex option this week.
