Source: Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has broken forearm

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski was his usual beastly self on Sunday against the Colts, gaining 137 yards and scoring two touchdowns. He did his part in the Patriots' 59-24 victory, and hopefully his fantasy owners enjoyed the effort; it may be the last they see of him during the regular season. A source has told Tom Curran of CSN New England that Gronkowski suffered a broken forearm during the Patriots' final extra-point attempt. The break was revealed in postgame X-rays. Information is still coming in regarding the severity, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Gronkowski will be out for 4-to-6 weeks.

Fantasy Analysis:

That timetable would mean Gronk wouldn't play again until Week 16 at the earliest. And to have such an injury happen so late in the game on a completely innocent, routine play with the Patritots leading by 34, that's definitely adding insult to injury. Why is he even on the field at that point? The Patriots would love to have Aaron Hernandez back as soon as possible to fill the massive void, but who knows what's up with his ever-painful ankle. I have no doubt that the Patriots' offense will be OK with all of the weapons they still have. But this is simply horrible news for Gronk's fantasy owners. That's about it.
