Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn
has been cleared by team doctors to play in Week 11. Head coach Romeo Crennel has previously stated that Quinn would come back as the starter once cleared. Matt Cassel did not play well on Monday night, completing 11-of-26 passes for 154 yards and a game-ending INT in overtime. The pick by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons sealed the victory since it led to a game-winning field goal. Quinn is 26-of-44 for 213 yards and three INTs this season in limited action.
Fantasy Analysis:
Neither Quinn nor Cassel have any business being on anyone's fantasy teams. The hard truth here is that the whole franchise is going to be cleared out, likely starting with general manager Scott Pioli. A new GM and new head coach will probably select a quarterback assuming the Chiefs have the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. In a mock draft I wrote here at FFToolbox (should be published within 24 hours), I had the Chiefs drafting QB Geno Smith from West Virginia. Other popular mocks have QB Matt Barkley from USC. Forget about the Chiefs this season, they've been done.
