Bears QB Jay Cutler doesn't play in second half due to concussion

The concussion was certainly the injury du jour on Sunday, especially to quarterbacks. The last notable player to sustain a day-ending blow to the cranium was Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who missed the entire second half of Sunday night's game versus the Texans due to a concussion. Cutler took a hard shot with about three minutes left in the first half on a play that was ruled to be an illegal forward pass. He finished out the half, but Jason Campell played the rest of the way. Cutler's day ended with 40 yards passing, 37 yards rushing and two interceptions.

Fantasy Analysis:

Campbell showed absolutely nothing, but that could have been attributed to the Texans' defense and the bad weather. He completed 11 of 19 passes for just 94 yards. It's not like Cutler has been awesome, but this offense is in trouble if he can't make it back for next Monday's game versus the 49ers. Although it means little right now, head coach Lovie Smith said after the loss that he is "hopeful" Cutler will play next week.
