New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles
will not play in his second consecutive game after being listed out on the Saints' injury report. It wasn't expected that Sproles would be ready to play after having surgery on his broken left hand. During last week's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans leaned on the trio of Chris Ivory, Mark Ingram
, and Pierre Thomas
to fill the void with all three backs earning carries and receptions.
Fantasy Analysis:
Ivory enjoyed the biggest leap in production as the team's apparent go-to guy after being a non-factor through the first half of the season. Predicting how the Saints will divy touches is a mystery as all three backs really bring something different to the table. Fantasy owners should avoid the situation if possible but it is hard to ignore Ivory's sleeper potential coming off the waiver wire. But when you factor in the tough matchup, the crowded backfield, and unestablished game plan, the cons appear to outweigh the pros.
