Sources: Lions WR Calvin Johnson may play on 3rd downs only

The optimism about Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson @Bigplaycj playing on Sunday is dwindling. Although Johnson didn't practice all week, head coach Jim Schwartz indicated the absences weren't too much of a big deal and that Johnson needed to rest his injured knee so he could play versus the Jaguars. But sources have told Pro Football Weekly that Johnson is a true game-time decision and if is he active, Johnson may be on the field for third downs only

Fantasy Analysis:

We have a new top story for tomorrow morning. I thought Jordy Nelson's playing status would be the lead in tomorrow's actives and inactives report, but this news is definitely alarming. The problem being, obviously, that if Johnson plays, he may see only 15 snaps or so. You can't start him if that's the case, even against the Jaguars' injury-riddled secondary. Titus Young @TitusYoung, Ryan Broyles @RyanBroyles and Brandon Pettigrew would definitely see more targets, but we'll know a lot more in about 12 hours. Don't forget to visit FFToolbox tomorrow at about 11:30 a.m. Eastern as we'll have all of the details regarding injured players who are suiting up or sitting out of the early games.

Great call. I sat him because of this post. I think your sources leaked some mis-information to make Jax relax a little bit.
