Steelers running backs Rashard Mendenhall
and Jonathan Dwyer
were both limited participants during Thursday's practice. For Mendenhall, it's the same track he followed on Wednesday. He has been dealing with Achilles tendon soreness for a few weeks now. Today's activity represents Dwyer's first practice action of the week after he sat out on Wednesday, as expected, to rest his strained right quad. Right now, Dwyer is expected to be available for Sunday's game versus the Giants. Mendenhall's status is much more up in the air.
Fantasy Analysis:
For what it''s worth, Dwyer said he will play in this game. If it's only Dwyer and Isaac Redman
in the Steelers' backfield this weekend, I'd be OK rolling with Dwyer as a flex against the Giants. A hearty number of beat writers don't expect Mendenhall to play, but If all three of them are active, it's a messy situation that you should avoid. Mendenhall shouldn't be in any fantasy lineups until he proves that he's over his latest injury.
