With the NFL trade deadline about 48 hours away, business is starting to pick up. To that point, a trade was made Tuesday. Not a big one, but a trade nonetheless. The Lions traded for wide receiver Mike Thomas
from the Jaguars. Compensation was not immediately disclosed. By the way, the Jaguars host the Lions this Sunday.
Fantasy Analysis:
Thomas was a decent WR3 in fantasy just two seasons ago when he put up 66 catches, 820 yards and four touchdowns. But his numbers took a plunge in 2011, and he has just 13 catches through seven games this season. He isn't a fantasy factor, even with the pass-happy Lions. He is just pure depth behind wide receiver Ryan Broyles
and on special teams.
In Jacksonville, Cecil Shorts
looks to be the clear No. 1 WR. He was targeted 11 times and posted double-digit fantasy points in each of the past two games. He should be one of the top adds at wide receiver this week.
