Rams WR Chris Givens has bruised toe

St. Louis Rams rookie wide receiver Chris Givens @CG1three was forced to the sidelines for roughly a quarter after bruising his toe. The former Wake Forest star has recently emerged as a deep threat in this offense. In his last five games, he has 11 receptions for 324 yards and two TDs. Those numbers produce a 29.5 yards per reception average. With WR Danny Amendola @DannyAmendola still not quite healthy, Givens has been the unlikely emerging star in a very crowded group of receivers. He has remarkably caught at least one 50-plus yard receptions in each of his last five games, the longest streak since 1966.

Fantasy Analysis:

Givens has been a true burner and having five straight games with a 50-plus yard reception is nuts. Kudos to the rookie who definitely made a name for himself in college as well. Problem for fantasy owners is that many thought it would be the Rams' other rookie receiver, Brian Quick @WORKAHOLIC_BQ, to be the team's next big thing. Realistically, that still holds true but Givens has obviously found his niche. Now it's up to him to expand his talents and find ways to produce on shorter routes too. Givens is worth a speculative add, although Amendola's eventual return limits the rookie's potential for the remainder of the season.
