Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur opted to sit running back Trent Richardson for the second half on Sunday due to a lingering rib cartilage injury. Richardson conceded, "I'm not myself out there right now. You look at me, I guess I'm not running hard like I'm used to, so I'm not out there right now. So it is worse than what people think it is." Shurmur on the other hand said that the rookie was "no worse for wear."
Fantasy Analysis:
Richardson was gung-ho all week about getting back on the field and being ready to play. Like most players though, he was too eager, but this really isn't his fault though. They let him give it a shot and Shurmur was wise to take him out before the injury became worse. The rookie back was limited to eight yards on eight carries. Backup Montario Hardesty
added 28 yards on seven carries and looks like an inconsistent emergency fantasy option if Richardson is held out next week. Look for the former Alabama back to be questionable throughout the week again with updates coming nearly everyday about his playing status for Week 8.
