Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin
was not present for the beginning of Friday's practice because of his nagging hip injury. Considering he was able to play against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, Maclin has maintained his questionable status over the last two weeks. Barring a downgrade that status, the former Missouri wideout will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
UPDATE: Maclin has been ruled out for Week 3.
Fantasy Analysis:
A salvagable fantasy performance last week (one reception, 23 yards and a TD) maintains the illusion that Maclin can play through the injury with few problems. That may not be true. Baltimore nearly shut him out and although they'll face Arizona in Week 3, Maclin shouldn't be thought of as a highly-reliable option for your starting line-up. The Cards did a solid job last week minimizing New England's scoring output. Again, these are things to keep in mind rather than mindlessly starting Maclin just because he scored some points last week.
UPDATE: Undrafted rookie WR Damaris Johnson is listed as Maclin's primary backup on the depth chart although it's impossible to give him a firm recommendation. There's no precedent that says he'll even earn more playing time than the Eagles other WRs.
