Week 16: Game Time Decisions - Injury Update
WR Torrey Smith, BAL
The 2nd year wideout from Maryland hit his head on the turf and suffered a concussion during the week 15 loss to Denver. Smith returned for Thursday's practice and appeasr likely to get the start in week 16 against the New York Giants. Jacoby Jones would likely get the start if Smith suffers a setback and can't go and would be a solid sleeper option against a Giant defense that ranks 28th against the pass (254 YPG). On the season, Smith is averaging 55 YPG with 7 touchdowns, but has not found the end zone since week 10. He remains a dynamic deep threat (averaging 17 YPC) and should produce solid WR2 numbers in a favorable matchup if he's able to suit up.
TE Brent Celek, PHI
The 6th year TE from Cincinnati suffered a week 14 concussion that kept him out of action for the Eagles' week 15 Thursday loss to the Bengals. Celek has been cleared and is expected to get the start this week against a Washington defense allowing the 10th most fantasy PPG to opposing TEs over the past five weeks. On the season, Celek has been a disappointment averaging 46 YPG with just one TD in 13 games. In the week 11 loss the Redskins, he totaled five catches for 42 yards and remains just a lower end TE2 with Nick Foles under center.
