Mid season trades in the NFL aren't very common, but still, the Lions traded for Jaguars' receiver Mike Thomas. The Lions had been fans of his since his college days and were now finally able to get him. Unfortunately he hasn't really shown much since they acquired him. At first he played behind Titus Young and Ryan Broyles. Broyles is now done for the season with an injury and Titus Young is in the dog house and has been a healthy scratch for the past few weeks and even with the injury to Broyles, it doesn't look like Young will be back in the starting lineup. In steps Thomas, who will likely get the biggest boost with all the roster changes. Calvin Johnson will continue to get most of the targets, but as defenses do their best to try and slow Calvin down, look for Thomas to get more looks. If you need help at flex this week, give Thomas a look

Tight end is always a tough spot to figure out who should start. Once you get past the Elite guys, the rest are basically a toss-up from week to week. This week Pitta has one of the best match ups, facing a Redskins defense giving up the 2nd most passing yards per game (299 yards). If you take the two match ups vs. the Steelers, where he only caught 1 pass each game, Pitta has been fairly consistent, putting up solid fantasy numbers on a week by week basis. While they won't blow you away, you can guarantee you will get some fantasy points; and with a match up like this don't be surprised if he puts up a very big game (just look at Martellus Bennett, who faced the Skins last week and put up the best numbers of the season, 5 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown). If you need to start a TE this week, Pitta makes for a good option
