Week 4: PPR Watch
TE Brandon Myers, NYG
Sleeper - With so many TEs producing serviceable numbers, Myers might be too deep a sleeper for most leagues, but it's worth noting that his 203 yards receiving is good for third at the position. He's been extremely reliable as well, catching all 15 of his targets. Yes, I'd like to see more opportunities, but that's exactly what Myers may get now that Heyward-Bey is out indefinitely with a concussion. The Raiders have very little going in the passing game right now, despite a continued desire to throw. It's hard to imagine Myers not getting a few more looks now that he's proven he can turn opportunities into yardage. The matchup against Denver this week isn't prohibitive either, with the Broncos already allowing 3 TDs to the position.
RB Bilal Powell, NYJ
Sleeper - If you're like me, you're always looking to add another running back; and when you can do it before everyone runs to the waiver wire, that's even better. In a lot of ways, I don't see a huge difference between Powell and Greene. Both are thick guys without exceptional speed, and not known for their pass catching ability. Still, Greene is running out of chances, and his inability to produce (for multiple seasons now) has the Jets looking at other options. With McKnight taking reps at cornerback, and Rex Ryan promising him more touches, the opportunity is there for Powell to steal this job. Now he has to actually do it. Out of college Powell was considered a patient runner that could be elusive and hit holes quickly. He won't get around the edge, but that's not the way the Jets run the ball anyway. You could argue he's not going to be a PPR difference maker, but he did catch 2 passes for 25 yards in limited week 3 work, and the Jets could use a check down option. He's worth a roster spot in all formats.
WR Kendall Wright, TEN
Sleeper - Well ahead of schedule, Kendall Wright is already finding a way to make himself worthy of a roster spot. At least in PPR. After 3 weeks, Wright is in the top 25 in targets, including 11 in week 3. He's been on the field for 80% of the Titans' offensive snaps, and that was even in week 3 with Kenny Britt getting more involved. Britt will continue to be on the field more and more, and that may bite into Wright's opportunity slightly, but Tennessee's defense is going to keep Jake Locker passing all game long. When QBs are attempting 40 passes a game, that's a great thing for fantasy, and Wright has the talent to start turning those short receptions into bigger fantasy days. I like him as a dependable bye week flex/WR3 if he can keep this up another couple weeks.
