Gates has been a huge disappointment so far this season. His rib injury kept him sidelined in Week 2, while Rosario had a big week and then this week was less than stellar. I have Rudolph on my bench and he is having a much better season. This week San Diego faces a Kansas City defense that is allowing points, but Rivers and his receiving core look brutal. If Rivers can capitalize on opportunities this week and his offensive line provides protection, Gates has a shot (but do you want to risk it again with the poor production recorded thus far?) I think there are some better options out there at tight end, even on the waivers at this stage. Gates will surely come around, though the low scoring weeks have been tough to swallow. If you plug and play Rudolph, Pitta, Gresham or Chandler you might fair better. Look for 5-6 targets this week with 3-4 completions at best.

Tamme posted three receptions for 31 yards Sunday against Houston. He left the game for a short time with an undisclosed ankle injury, but returned. Peyton Manning has quite a few targets and Tamme is competing with Joel Dressen for tight end targets. In Week 3 Dressen grabbed the score - despite it being a tip. With Manning not being as accurate as he has in the past and Tamme potentially limited by his ankle injury this week, I would keep him on the bench. Tamme is going to unfortunately be one of those players who has highs and lows. I think this week is one to look for another TE option.
