Donald Brown is the "presumptive leader" in the Colts backfield, so says beat writer Mike Chappel with the Indianapolis Star. However, Chappel also not Brown may not be the best fit on the roster for the power running style Indy's new coaching staff is employing. Brown shined during the second half of the 2011 season and finished with career highs in rushing yards and yards per carry, a rather robust 4.8. Yet he is not a pure physical runner – Delone Carter and rookie Vick Ballard on the other hand, fit that mold. Carter went from sleeper to waiver wire fodder last season, but this new scheme implemented under the direction of head coach Chuck Pagano puts the 238-pounder back on the late-round fantasy watch list.

Using the previous season's strength of schedule as a true barometer of what's to come during the upcoming campaign is a touch shortsighted in the even changing NFL. However, it's worth noting that according to the FFToolbox Strength o' Schedule meter, the four easiest QB schedules through week 16 all reside in the NFC South. Even if the Bucs defense is better after last season's late season mutiny or the Falcons secondary upgraded by adding Asante Samuel and so on, there will still be plenty of shootouts. Remember that, at least from a draft tiebreaker standpoint when you're looking at passing game options including players from this division, something I talked about regarding Matt Ryan in this week's podcast.

Robert Griffin III's training camp introductory presser on Wednesday was a rock star event, covered live on local and national TV. At said presser, RGIII – or as Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora calls the heralded rookie QB, "Bob Griffin" – said his work as a commercial pitchman and award show participant is over until the season is over. That's a good thing because as ubiquitous as the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft has been this summer before playing a single game, he had better deliver.

I'm always bummed when Beanie Wells, just added to the Cardinals PUP list, is not 100 percent before fantasy drafts. Not because I want him, oh no. Because so many other owners in my leagues do. On the other hand, Ryan Williams has been on my radar as he returns from a major knee injury and is even more so now.
